Keepin’ It Green – Our Eco Promise

Fun shouldn’t come at the environment’s expense. Here’s how Chip 2 Win keeps our lakes, ponds, and planet happy while we play.

Eco Practices Overview

We love our lakes and rivers as much as we love a good golf shot. Chip 2 Win is proud to be an eco-friendly entertainment company. From the equipment we use to how we operate, we take careful steps to ensure we “leave it better than we found it.” In fact, you might forget we were even there (aside from all the smiles we leave behind).

Ball Retrieval & Eco Gear

Every single ball we tee up is either retrieved or designed to dissolve harmlessly if it can’t be found. Our team uses floating barrier nets and, when necessary, scuba divers to collect all golf balls after an event – we don’t leave anything in the water. On sensitive sites (like open water or natural habitats), we use special eco-friendly golf balls that biodegrade in water within a few weeks. These balls are made of non-toxic materials, so if one ever escapes our nets or divers, it will safely break down without harming fish or the environment. Bottom line: No lost ball is left behind, and no wildlife is put at risk for the sake of a golf game.

Low-Impact Setup

Our floating greens and equipment are engineered for minimal environmental impact. How? We use non-invasive anchors that sit gently on lakebeds or pool bottoms without digging in or causing damage. No scraping, no pulling – when we remove our anchor weights, there’s zero trace left on the underwater terrain. If we’re in a lined pool or man-made pond, we use a mushroom-style anchors wrapped in rubber that have soft protective pads on the contact points to ensure we never tear or scuff the liner. On land, we’re equally careful: we place driving range mats for golfers to hit from so that grass or groundcover isn’t divoted or trampled. Our transport dollies have turf-friendly tires, preventing ruts or damage when moving the floating green to and from the water. From start to finish, Chip 2 Win is designed to tread lightly on the environment.

It’s part of our company DNA to respect every venue we visit. If we see trash in or around the water, our crew often picks it up as a courtesy (why not leave things cleaner?). We coordinate closely with local environmental agencies when needed, and we only operate in approved areas. In short, we strive to be model citizens of every lake, pond, or river we use. Hosting Chip 2 Win won’t just entertain your guests – it will also showcase how recreation and conservation can go hand in hand.

Better Than We Found It

Eco FAQ

Do golf balls in water harm fish or wildlife?

We’ve got this one covered. We either use floating balls that we round up immediately or dissolvable balls that break down in a couple of weeks if lost. Standard golf balls can be harmful to waterways, but we don’t use those in sensitive areas. Plus, our team retrieves everything we can with nets and divers. No animals are going to choke on our golf balls, we promise.

What about the turf/grass where you set up? Does it get damaged?

Not at all. We use professional driving-range mats for all tee shots, so club swings never take a divot out of your grass. Our equipment (tents, tables, and ball buckets) stays in designated areas, and we’re careful not to trample landscaping. When we leave, your grounds crew won’t even know we were there – no divots, no flattened grass, nothing.

How do the anchors work? Will they disturb the bottom of our pond/pool?

Our anchors are weight-based and rubber-coated. We gently lower them into place – they basically hug the bottom without digging in. There are no sharp hooks or drills. After the event, we lift them out, and it’s like nothing was ever there. If your pond has a liner, we have a protective barrier on the anchor so it doesn’t scratch or tear it. We’ve done our homework on this to ensure total peace of mind.

What if it’s a wildlife habitat? Can you still operate?

We evaluate sites individually. If a pond has a lot of wildlife (ducks, etc.), we plan around them – maybe choosing a different spot or working with animal control, fish and game, park rangers to ensure no creatures are in harm’s way. Our events are typically short-term and have human supervision at all times, so we can pause if a family of geese decides to swim through, for example. We prioritize safety for humans and animals alike. If a location is too ecologically sensitive, we’ll decline the event or suggest an alternative site. We won’t compromise the environment for the sake of entertainment.

We know that an unconventional activity, such as hitting golf balls into water, raises some eyebrows. Here are answers to common questions about our eco practices.

No way. The only things going in the water are golf balls, and they’re either coming right back out or biodegrading naturally. We don’t use any dyes, chemicals, or foreign substances. We sometimes place a floating marker or buoy for alignment, but it’s temporary and removed immediately after. The water stays as pure as it was before we arrived.

Do you add anything to the water (dye, chemicals, etc.) for the event?
